Geofences
Geofences are determined areas or zones on a map.
One of the most advance characteristics of Skytrack trackers is the geofence scenario creation ability. These geofences are of great real time accuracy with automatic notifications.
This feature has multiple benefits both for businesses and individuals. In its simplest use, a barrier can serve as a safety valve in case of movement or theft of a vehicle, notifying the owner directly on his mobile phone. In more complex cases, it can be used to control the entry and exit times of a vehicle from specific locations, which is especially important for fleet managers and business owners.
All Skytrack GPS tracking models feature high-precision barriers as a key feature.
How it works
When these geographical areas are crossed by a vehicle equipped with a Skytrack GPS tracker, the vehicle owner, fleet manager and / or any other competent person will be notified immediately with one of the following methods:
- Mobile notification (push notification)
- Buzzer
- SMS
- LED display
- Alarm on a computer
All functions of the geofence are controlled via GNSS satellite and the customer can choose when an alert will be activated – on entry, exit or both.
The zone that will be defined can have a circular or rectangular shape and can be defined from the level of a building to the level of a prefecture or a country!
A fleet manager or business owner can use geographical areas to receive notifications about the arrival and departure times of vehicles (eg from a customer or supplier). At the end of the day, everything will be recorded automatically and the exact route of each vehicle, its stops, the time spent in each area and other information can be accurately identified.
